Education

A combination of arena work, paddock riding and trail rides, has resulted in some very happy horses, who are stress free, confident and really enjoying their new life under saddle. Aimed at the level you want.

We specialise in caring, kind and compassionate training of all horses. The team at Daylesford Equestrian has many years experience in breaking young horses and references are available upon request. Educate the rider and the horse.

We train in a calm and consistent manor that allows the horse to familiarise itself with the working world. We understand that each horse is an individual who will respond differently to their education, with this in mind all of our breaking plans are adaptable. As a rough guide we allow upto 12 weeks - some are quicker - to have the horse broken to saddle (walk / trot / cantering). Further training can be provided to take the horse to the owners desired level of education.

At the appropriate stage and where possible owners are encouraged to come and interact / ride their horse to enable them to understand their horses routine. We keep the horses in a regular routine that can be maintained by its owner when the horse returns home. Each horses progression is closely monitored and all horses are treated as individuals to ensure as little stress as possible.

All clients can be provided with regular video/picture updates so you can see the progression of your horse.

Training

Young, old, OTT we look for the cause of any behavioural issues. We have found that often the root cause of issues is because the horse is sore or has an injury that hasn’t been picked up or has teeth problems. Bitting and saddle fitting is another area that is important to investigate. Once we eliminate these potential issues we then look at customising a training program that suits the aims you have for your horse.
